What languages are the tours offered in?

We operate our tours through English, although you might hear an Irish word or two along the way.

Can children attend tours?

Yes, they can and must be accompanied by a parent/guardian if they are aged under 16. School groups must always be accompanied by a teacher.

Are the tours wheelchair accessible?

Generally yes, but occasionally a variation of the route may be necessary to avoid steps. The guide is not in the position to push wheelchairs so if this is necessary the wheelchair user must have a companion with them for this purpose.

How much Walking is Involved

Distances we cover are approx. 2km (1.5 miles) at a leisurely pace.

Is the tour guaranteed to run?

99% – Our Welcome to Galway Walking Tour will only be cancelled due to severe weather warning or an extreme unforeseen circumstance.

How many people are on the Tour?

Our public Welcome to Galway Tour operates at a maximum of 20 people.

What should I wear?

We will be walking, so comfortable shoes are advisable. There’s no avoiding the weather in Galway and we operate rain, hail or shine (With the exception of extreme weather warnings) – so please dress accordingly.

Should we Tip our Guide?

Although tips are not compulsory they are very much appreciated and encouraged for a job well done. Any tips should be given directly to your guide at the end of your tour.

Are the tours family friendly?

Yes – This is a family friendly tour but please insure your little one is prepared for the walking, standing & weather!
