This Luxury Small Group Tour is certainly the most comprehensive day trip available in Ireland – You get to experience rugged Connemara, the wild Aran Islands, the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and the mysterious Burren region – All in just one day!
How is this possible? The secret is in the tour route. Your guide takes you through a series of one-way trips on multiple ferries, all supported by your dedicated tour driver and luxury midi-coach. This allows us to circle all of Galway Bay, hence our in-house nickname for the tour – “Galway Bay In A Day”.
In this groundbreaking day trip, you will get to taste the best of the west of Ireland in just a few hours. Sample south Connemara, explore Inis Oirr (the smallest of the 3 Aran Islands), and take a cruise under the Cliffs of Moher. Coming back onto the mainland, we take in part of the finest coastal drive in Ireland, as we make our way along the Wild Atlantic Way through County Clare back to Galway city.
What makes this day trip truly unique is that it is a looped route, so you are experiencing a completely different region of the West of Ireland in every hour that passes. You won’t see the same thing twice!
On this tour, you’ll get to experience so much of the West of Ireland in such a short amount of time. Along with your trip to Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher cruise from Galway, major attractions you’ll pass by include Salthill, Rossaveal, Doolin, Ballyvaughan, the Wild Atlantic Way, Coastal Road, Blackhead Lighthouse, and Dunguaire Castle.
We will take the scenic coastal route along South Connemara to Rossaveal Harbour. This region is steeped in history and culture, and is one of the few areas in Ireland where the Irish Language is still used as a primary language.
Upon arriving on Inis Oírr, you’ll be greeted by golden sandy beaches, turquoise water, and maybe even the island’s resident dolphin, Dusty! This tranquil collection of fishing villages is also home to a burial mound dating back to 1,500 BC, a medieval church ruin buried half in the sand, and a three-storey tower built within a Stone Age fort.
Along the shore, you’ll encounter a shipwreck from 1960, breathtaking views of Connemara and the Burren, and one of Ireland’s most beautiful beaches. Whichever path you take on the island, you’ll be sure to stumble upon history, traditions, and a good cup of tea.
