A Complete Island-Wide Ireland Experience in 10 or 12 Days

If you want to see it all – North, West, and South – our 10- and 12-day small group tours offer the most comprehensive and rewarding way to explore Ireland. Starting in Belfast and ending in either Killarney or Cork, you’ll journey through the island’s most spectacular landscapes and historic towns with a winning blend of structure, spontaneity, convenience, and comfort.

Our 10-Day Tour gives you a sweeping view of Ireland’s amazing natural diversity, from the Causeway Coast and Donegal’s remote beauty to the poetic landscapes of Connemara and the cliffs of Clare. Meanwhile, our 12-Day Tour adds even more depth with time in Cork, Kinsale, and Cobh, including a tour of the Midleton Distillery and the stirring Titanic Experience.

Throughout, you’ll enjoy the hallmark Lally Tours touch: engaging local guides, relaxed pacing, and access to off-the-beaten-path places you wouldn’t find on your own. We’ve been family-run and Galway-based since 1988, and we bring that local insight to every itinerary.

Group sizes are kept small (always under 16 guests) to maintain flexibility and group connection. We’ve built these tours to feel unrushed, with double-night stays in most places, plenty of free time to explore, and comfortable, locally owned accommodation in central locations. You’ll travel in modern, spacious midi-coaches with USB chargers, air-con, and recliner seats, led by guides who are not only knowledgeable but also possess the famous Irish sense of hospitality.

These All-Ireland itineraries are designed for travellers who want an authentic, immersive look at Ireland, from the far north to the Wild Atlantic and beyond!

Itinerary

Day 1 - Belfast City Sightseeing

Both 10-day and 12-day tours start on a Tuesday

It all starts at a Dublin City centre meeting point – There you will meet your driver-guide and board your top-spec tour coach along with a max of 20 guests to embark on a journey of a lifetime. The tour then begins with a scenic drive from Dublin City to Belfast, where you’ll get an introduction to Ireland’s rich and complex history along the way. Once in Belfast, drop off your bags, settle in, and head out to start exploring the city at your own pace. Enjoy some independent time to take in the sights, sounds, and stories that make Belfast so unique. Don’t worry – your driver-guide will never be too far away and will be on hand to help you make the most of your independent time in Belfast.

Overnight 1/2 in Belfast City Center

Day 2 - Local Day in Belfast

There is so much to see and do in Belfast, it’s just unfair and unwise to force everyone to do the same things. So our “Local Day” format gives you all the time and support you need to make decisions, plan your times and help get you from A to B to C to D.

Popular requests in Belfast include arranging a Black Cab Tour, visit the Titanic Experience, do the Game of Thrones Studio Tour, play a round of golf at Rory McIlroys home club, hike The Gobbins, enjoy a murals walking tour amongst many many others.

Again, your driver-guide will remain on hand to help you make the most of your independent time in Belfast.

Overnight 2/2 in Belfast City Center

Day 3 - Causeway Coast

Today’s adventure takes you along Northern Ireland’s spectacular coastline. Start by crossing the famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, suspended high above the Atlantic for breathtaking views and a touch of thrill. Continue on to the Giant’s Causeway, where you can marvel at the otherworldly basalt columns shaped by nature and legend alike. After lunch we uncover the city of Derry with a guided walking tour, bringing the city’s rich history and vibrant culture to life.

We then pop over the border into Co. Donegal the Republic of Ireland to unwind at a gorgeous seaside hotel.

At this point we are officially hopping onto the most northerly point of the Wild Atlantic Way (WAW). If taking the 10 day option, you will experience approx 80% of the WAW. If on the 12 day tour, you’re in for approx 95% of the WAW, including a finish at the southern-most tail which is the town of Kinsale in Co. Cork.

Overnight in Co. Donegal 1/1

Day 4 - Wild Wild North West

Welcome to the wildest of wild part of Ireland, the stunning north-west coast. Our plan is not to have a plan. Just road-trip to along the coast uncovering some of the finest beaches in the world, stopping for coffee’s/pints in tiny villages and meeting some of the kindest, patient and warmest people in Ireland.

We couldn’t visit Donegal without a trip to the Slieve League Cliffs – The highest cliffs in mainland Ireland

Day 6 - Connemara and Galway City

Today’s journey takes the scenic route to Galway, winding through the wild beauty of Connemara’s Gaeltacht region, where Irish is still spoken daily. Meet a local farmer and watch his skilled sheepdogs in action, then enjoy some free time to wander the peaceful grounds of Kylemore Abbey and its charming Walled Gardens. Along the way, you’ll learn about the Irish language and its place in local life before capping off the day with a tasting of Poitín, Ireland’s traditional (and rather cheeky) local spirit.

After lunchtime – Welcome to Galway, Ireland’s most vibrant and musical city! Kick things off with a guided walking tour to get your bearings and soak up the city’s charm, from lively street performers to colourful shopfronts. Afterwards, enjoy some free time to explore at your own pace—wander the cobbled lanes, pick up a few local treasures, or pop into a cosy pub (or two!) for a taste of Galway’s famous nightlife.

Day 7 - Local day in Galway

Now over halfway through your trip there is no better place to take a rest day than Galway City. There is so much to see and do, but it’s also a great place to just chill out, stroll the boutique, Mom & Pop shops or just bar hop and hang with the locals.

If you want to stay going, hop on one of Lally Tours other local trips – From eBike Tours and Hop-On Hop-Off Opentop Bus Tours to Food Tours and local hikes, there will be no problem filling your day with goodness. The hardest part is deciding what to do and for this, again, you will have your driver/guide on hand to help plan this with you.

Start the day with a coffee in the seaside town of Kinvara before setting off on a cruise beneath the towering Cliffs of Moher. Then, spend the afternoon exploring Inis Oírr, the smallest of the Aran Islands—by bike, horse and cart, or on foot.

Similar to the previous local days in Belfast and Galway, here you will have the day to break away from the group and really do whatever makes you tick. This is your opportunity to go play a round of golf, book in for a Spa Day, go for a long hike, rent a bike and explore. Or just stick with your driver for a short half-day tour of the local highlights.

Again, your driver/guide knows this area like the back of their hands and is there to help plan your day, and to help get you from A to B.

If you are on the 10 day tour you will depart the group on Day 10. You will have the choice of any one of the train times from Killarney to Dublin.

After pottering our way through West Corks towns and villages, we’ll enjoy an extended coffee stop in the gorgeous seaside town of Kinsale – officially the southern-most point of the Wild Atlantic Way.

Shortly after lunch we will get into Cork City, ensuring plenty of time to explore St. Patricks Street, The English Market, Oliver Plunkett Street and a stroll along the river Lee.

Rounding out the 12 day tour, what better way to toast a fine farewell than by taking a guided tour of Midleton Distillery – The mecca of Irish whiskey and the home of Jameson.

Your driver guide will then bid you fair well as they drop you to your train in Cork City which will bring you straight back to Dublin City Center. If you’d prefer to go straight to Dublin Airport that can also be arranged, no problem.
